You probably have ideas for overcoming them while you're reading this. None of the above problems are insurmountable. Like, if I make a hero named "The Raven", is that taken? Without doing research, I wouldn't know. Not a huge problem with enough creativity, but personally I'm not well-versed enough in all the comics lore to know when I might be "stepping on toes". But just about any one-word name for a hero is already taken (and many two-word ones), and it's hard to come up with superhero archetypes that aren't recognizable as better-known heroes in established franchises. Without licenses for DC, Marvel, Sentinel Comics, etc., you're looking at coming up with original superhero world content. The superhero genre is pretty crowded for new IP.Both are problematic, and don't lend themselves to quick solutions in seven days and are hard to make feel elegant. But a team of superheroes means a UI headache as the player manages multiple characters one by one OR you have to implement an AI for NPC heroes. In the comics, that's largely handled with teamwork. Single superhero or team? If a single superhero finds themselves nullified by the enemies they face ("Oh no, Doctor Coldsnap, these thugs are immune to cold!"), they're pretty much shut down. You've gotta give the player those "spotlight moments" where they're real badasses with their powers, but it seems like there's a fine line between "cakewalk" and "impossible" when it comes to procedural generation of challenges for superheroes.
